A brilliant inventor and self-taught watchmaker, Antoine LeCoultre (1803-1881), founded his first workshop in 1833, after inventing a machine to produce watchmaking pinions. Since that date, the Jaeger-LeCoultre Manufacture has developed constantly around the founder’s original workshops. At the Jaeger-LeCoultre Manufacture, over 180 kinds of watchmaking expertise - from the rarest craft professions to the most cutting-edge technologies - continue the founder’s legacy all under one roof. The ‘Grande Maison’ has built more than 1,249 mechanical movements, a watch industry record.
